    when you are very hungry just dont eat
    it is very hard at first if you keep doing it it gets easier

    Some good advice in this thread. Here are a few of my tips, some already mentioned previously:

    - Eat once or twice a day, old country way (intermittent fasting, I am told it is called).
    - Suppress your hunger and after a while you won’t feel hungry. I do it as a challenge to myself, reminding myself that caving to the temptation to eat is a weakness and I can’t accept being weak.
    - Keep yourself busy with something you like, something you are committed to. I can go for a day without eating when I am immersed in an activity I really like.
    - Brush your teeth. It gets rid of the filmy awful dry taste of hunger in your mouth and you are less likely to want to eat right after you cleaned your mouth.
    - Sleep well. Sleeping is fasting and if you are well rested, your mind will be stronger plus you’ll have more energy for the day.
    - If you need to chew on something, go for crunchy vegetables.
    - Caffeine works for some people. So does ephedrine. Caffeine might make you irritated and angry though. Ephedrine wakes you up and actually can make you think faster and more clearly but the effect subsides with use over a short time. That’s my assessment, other miscers might disagree.
    - Break down your day in segments separated by little events to look forward to. Example: walk around the block at 9 am, quick cigarette break at 11 am, coffee at 1 pm, lunch at 2 pm, cigarette at 3 pm etc. It gives you little references throughout the day to make the time pass more easily.
